REcent Projects

Royal Sussex County Hospital

We are very proud to share our involvement with the recent CONNECT programme for the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust’s Louisa Martindale Building that was unveiled earlier this year, in June 2023. The CONNECT programme worked with 24 leading national and international artists, as well as with many local artists, art organisations, and community members to create more than 150 original artworks that ‘Connect with Place’, celebrating Brighton, Sussex, the coast, and the unique character and cultures of the communities who live there.

Within this, thirteen artists and designers were commissioned as part of the ‘Art and Wayfinding’ project to create large-scale illustrations depicting local landmarks from Brighton, Sussex and the local coastline. These graphic wall works are placed in all the lift lobbies and department entrances to make it easier to find your way around. This wonderful team Included two of Peagreen’s talented designers, Marissa Kingsbury and George Sharp. Who were also responsible for helping to oversee other artists in the programme and organise the placement of the new artworks.

Marissa’s design captures the magnificent woodlands of Sheffield Park Gardens. Whilst George’s design depicts the historical Arundel Castle, both in true Peagreen charm. Thank you to VGL who did a fantastic job of printing and bringing all the designs to life.

This celebratory arts programme supports the wellbeing of patients, visitors and staff by making the hospital feel more welcoming, helping people find their way round, providing distraction and enjoyment, and ensuring people feel cared for and we are honoured to have been a part of it.
